Hidden Peak is a great first summit adventure if you have not yet summited one of the Rainbow Mountains in Nevada. The route to the summit base is on a nice trail and the final summit approach is well-cairned with gradual inclines and just a few easy class 3 rock scrambles. The traditional summit route to Mt. Wilson (elevation 7,071ft) is from First Creek Canyon below. But did you know it was also possible to descend to the summit of Mt. Wilson from the Rainbow Mountains Upper Crest Ridgeline above? This entire, fairly isolated back-wilderness route is a class 2-3 walk, though along some steep slopes. Eva’s Tower | Rainbow Mountain Wilderness, Nevada
This climb begins near the Pine Creek trailhead and heads across the desert to the east face of Bridge Point. There, it enters a large gully above the initial cliffs and ascends midway up the gully. The final summit climb is from the back side of Eva’s Tower.
