Here are a few great short hikes to enjoy on the day of your Kyle Canyon picnic:

• Acastus Trail – A great interpretive introduction to the Spring Mountains
• Fletcher Canyon Trail – An intimate Spring Mountains canyon at the base of majestic limestone cliffs.
• Eagles Nest Loop – A wide-open plateau with expansive views both up and down the length of Kyle Canyon.
• Escarpment Trail – Loop beneath and above a huge limestone cliff with spectacular views.

Head up Hwy-95 North from Las Vegas, take a left at the Kyle Canyon exit, continue about 20 miles up Kyle Canyon Road. The Spring Mountains Visitor Gateway Group Picnic Area is on the left at the first traffic circle in upper Kyle Canyon. The Kyle Canyon Picnic Area is on the left before the Fletcher Canyon Trailhead. The Cathedral Rock Picnic Area is at the far upper end of Kyle Canyon Road at the Cathedral Rock Trailhead / Charleston South Loop Trailhead.
