Harris Mountain Adventures Overview | Mt Charleston Wilderness | Spring Mountains, Nevada
Harris Mountain, elevation 10,014 feet, is the most pristine of the six highest Mt. Charleston Wilderness summits. I’ve never seen anyone on that summit. The wildflowers, rare Acastus butterflies and Bristlecone pines are untouched. However, Harris Mountain summit is the most difficult summit to reach as there are no trails and all the routes are through pathless wilderness. If you have a 4WD vehicle, the upper end of Harris Mountain Road provides an approach with the least distance by foot. However, there’s also a beautiful wilderness approach from the Fletcher Canyon Trailhead. Find more approaches to Harris Mountain on this page than you thought were possible, from both Kyle Canyon and Lovell Canyon!
The views from Harris Mountain summit are spectacular as you’re standing on the high ridgeline between Lovell Canyon and Kyle Canyon. Facing East and North from Kyle Canyon there are Gass Peak, the Sheep Range, Las Vegas Valley, La Madre Mountains and Potosi Mountain. Then turn to see the best view of all the highest peaks in the Mt. Charleston Wilderness down the entire length of Kyle Canyon to the West!Â
