The 35-mile River Mountains Loop Trail circles the entire River Mountains area in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The trail itself has a fine, well graded asphalt surface which makes it great for cycling, hiking and running workouts. In the process of circling the base of these rugged volcanic hills and mountains, you’ll discover many routes to hike up into the hills for a more up front and personal encounter with this wilderness area. Adventure to occur soon during a Winter season! I plan to ride the loop on a mountain bike, then post video, slides and narrative guides. The guides will document River Mountains Loop Trail access points, major stretches on the trail and jumping-off points for hiking adventures in the River Mountains. A unique feature of this website is to document both the River Mountains Loop Trail and hiking adventures inside the loop in the River Mountains.
